Major home appliances—think your oven, washing machine, and refrigerator—undoubtedly make everyday life easier. But it can be costly when these items need to be replaced. Holiday Season

Expect to find a handful of discounts on major appliances during the holiday season, as well as during holiday weekends like Presidents' Day and Labor Day. "Holidays specifically are a great time to find both deals and bundles on appliances and can save you time and money," says Bree Lemmen, kitchen brand manager for Whirlpool. "It is potentially a great time to upgrade to an appliance that has the features you want."

Retail Holidays

One of the best times to shop for new appliances is during retail holidays, like Black Friday and Cyber Monday. "Retail holidays such as Black Friday often come with substantial savings, making it a great time to purchase new appliances," says Lemmen.

Off-Season

While not every appliance has an off-season, certain items are only needed during specific times of the year. "The off-season is a great time to buy new appliances, as prices are likely to go down when demand is lower," says Gary McCoy, store manager at Lowe's. "For example, shoppers could save big on air conditioners in the wintertime, as most consumers won’t be thinking about replacing those appliances in the off-season."

After a New Release

Buying an appliance following a new release is a good time to shop for two reasons. "New releases allow customers to get the best new appliances, which often have more modern features than older models," says McCoy. If you're not interested in the bells and whistles that new models often come with, older versions of the same model may also go on sale after a new release, says Lemmen.
