While Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz are enjoying newlywed bliss, the couple is still reflecting over their wedding day itself—especially the groom. The pair wed just over one month ago on April 9 in Palm Beach, Florida, surrounded by loved ones. Beckham noted, though, that his eyes were only on his then-bride-to-be. He told British Vogue in a recent interview that she truly took his breath away the moment he saw her in her big-day look. "The highlight of the whole wedding for me was seeing her for the first time in that dress," he told the outlet, Entertainment Tonight reports. "It was the first time ever in my life when I felt like I couldn't catch my breath."

Peltz, who donned a customValentino Couture gown with lace gloves for the ceremony, reflected on their emotional big day, sharing that she wiped away her groom's tears as they read their vows to one another. Plus, a sentimental touch on her wedding dress made her cry. After being pronounced husband and wife, Peltz's mom let her in on the secret message that her seamstress embroidered on the frock in baby-blue thread: "Nicola, my heart. You are me, I am you. All my love, all my life, my beautiful girl, inside and out. Love, mom," it read. Peltz said that she was "happy she showed that to me after the ceremony because I just burst into tears."

The pair's big day came together in grand fashion, as they welcomed nearly 500 guests in total to help them celebrate their nuptials. However, this wasn't their original plan, as they thought through their wedding day details over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic. "When the world was in lockdown, we went through different variations of what a wedding would look like," Peltz said. "We weren't sure if we should do a small one earlier and then a big party. Eventually, we decided we wanted the big wedding as soon as it was possible to do it safely. And we're so happy we did. It was amazing to be in the presence of so many people we love again."

In terms of other highlights from their big day? Sweet toasts to the married couple from their family and friends, including the groom's father, David Beckham. "He said the most important thing is to make each other happy," he recalled. "And treat your Mrs. like gold."
