Don't just hang the stockings with care; craft them with love. For this super-jolly pair, we opted for holidays-lite coral and honeydew felt, and added contrast stitching on the stars. But you can choose any colors or shapes that make you want to kick up your heels. Looking for even more stocking crafts? We have several DIYS to choose from, including these mini iterations. And, while you're at it, learn how Martha personalizes her own family's stockings during the holiday season.

What You'll Need
Materials
- Holiday Stocking Template
- Tailor's chalk
- Pure wool felt (Benzie Design Pure Wool Felt, 12" by 18", in Salmon and Agave)
- Basic sewing supplies
- Pre-cut felt stars (Appliqué Flowers Die-Cut Felt Stars in White)
- Cotton ribbon
Instructions
-
Download the template, print it on two sheets of 8 1/2-by-11-inch paper, and cut it out. With tailor's chalk, trace it onto two pieces of felt; we used 1.2-millimeter, which is sturdy enough to hold stuffers. Cut both out and set one aside.
-
Attach precut stars to the front of one piece with a running stitch and thread in a color that matches the stocking, maintaining a 1/8-inch border. Take care not to sew any closer to the edge than 3/8 inch.
-
Place the stocking pieces one on top of the other, stars-side facing up, and sew them together with a running stitch, maintaining a 1/2-to-3/8-inch border from the edge.
-
Cut a piece of sturdy cotton ribbon to the desired length (we went with seven inches, for a 3.5-inch loop). Fold it in half and sew the ends to the top-right seam of the stocking.
