It's not Halloween until you pick out a few pumpkins from the pumpkin patch and bring them home to decorate. While carving a spooky face into a Jack-o'-lantern is certainly a beloved past time, if you want to create something a little more unique and colorful, consider using our exclusive Halloween-themed templates.

There are three looks you can achieve when using our printable clip-art to découpage pumpkins, including one covered with sunbursts, one with a cat and sunbursts, and one with mice and sunbursts (all pictured above). These seasonal templates were created for us exclusively by artist Angie Pickman. Print out the templates you like, cut them out, and place them on your pumpkin silhouette-style, to set a spooky mood—just right for any gathering this fall.

Materials

Instructions

  1. Print Clip-Art:

Print clip-art template on uncoated paper. Cut around perimeter; the "cutouts" within the designs are white or orange, so use the one that will blend with the color of your pumpkin (orange cutouts go on an orange pumpkin, white cutouts go on a white pumpkin).

  2. Print Starburst Templates:

Print starburst templates and cut out shapes. Stack up to 12 pieces of colored tissue paper and secure with binder clips. Trace template onto the top layer of tissue paper. Cut through all layers, moving clips as necessary to hold in place.

  3. Apply Découpage and Add Clip-Art:

Brush découpage medium onto pumpkin. Smooth the clip-art (cat or mice templates) into place over the medium, placing the colorful starbursts under the clip-art as you go. Brush paper and area around it with another coat of découpage medium. Let dry.
