Whether they're testing each other's mixology skills or enjoying a courtside date night, Kate Middleton and Prince William have never been shy about their love for competition—including against each other. At a recent visit to the Aberavon Leisure & Fitness Centre in Port Talbot, South Wales, the royal couple talked about the importance of physical and mental health, Us Weekly reports. During the outing, they also put their own fitness skills to the test during a group spin class.
The Prince and Princess of Wales thought it would be fun to have a friendly 45-second race—sans fitness gear. Princess Catherine sported high-heeled boots, a houndstooth maxi skirt, and a white turtleneck and Prince William wore a full suit and tie with dress shoes, but that didn't stop them from hopping onto their stationary bikes for their competition.
As they went head-to-head in the race, their fellow class attendees cheered them on. But Princess Catherine didn't need the extra encouragement: "Can I make it harder?" she asked the instructor.
The royals pushed themselves to the limit and peddled until until they were nearly out of breath to reach the 45-second finish line. As for who reigned supreme? The Princess of Wales came out on top, beating Prince William despite his best efforts. Before she accepted her championship trophy, Princess Catherine jokingly (and humbly, of course!) patted her husband on the arm to celebrate his honest try.
