Tom Hiddleston and Zawe Ashton are ready to tie the knot! Almost three years after they first starred together in a Broadway play, the duo is officially engaged, according to a report by People. The news comes after Ashton sparked engagement rumors when she was photographed at the BAFTAs wearing a diamond on her left ring finger.

The two actors first crossed paths during the 2019 West End production of the play Betrayal (the play starred Hiddleston as Robert and Ashton as his wife, Emma), and made their red carpet debut as a couple in September 2021 during the 74th Annual Tony Awards. Beyond his Broadway career, Hiddleston shot to fame thanks to his role as Loki in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Fittingly, Ashton will soon join the Avengers world playing the villain who takes on Brie Larson's character in the upcoming Captain Marvel sequel, The Marvels.

Despite his fame, Hiddleston typically keeps his romantic life private. During a 2017 interview with with The Telegraph, he said, "Everyone is entitled to a private life." He added, "I love what I do and I dedicate myself with absolute commitment to making great art and great entertainment, and in my mind I don't conflict the two. My work is in the public sphere and I have a private life. And those two things are separate."

Although the couple hasn't yet confirmed their engagement, Ashton has allegedly been spotted wearing this particular ring for about a year, according to another report by People. The stunning bauble features a large oval center stone surrounded by a halo of smaller stones. The actress was first seen wearing the ring while attending the first gala performance of Cabaret At The Kit Kat Club in London in December 2021, as well the British Fashion Awards in November.
